Today I am going to review Science-Based Green Detox.
This is a supplement created by Thomas DeLauer who claims to be of the world’s leading body fitness and natural health experts (and claims that he used to be overweight himself a few years ago at 300 pounds).
If you are like many of us, you have probably tried to lose some weight but to no avail. You got on a diet, you hit the gym and you probably even spent way too much time on the treadmill, but the pounds didn’t want to come off.
Well, according to Thomas DeLauer, not detoxing your body could be the reason, and that is why he supposedly created created Science-Based Green Detox.
But…
To cut a long story short, the product is majorly overpriced for what it is. I’ve tried a whole bunch of detox supplements and products and you can get a far better detox for much cheaper…
I recommend taking a look at the Red Tea Detox here which offers much better results.
Science Based Green Detox – Why I Don’t Like It
The main reason that I do not recommend this product is the cost. At present it costs around $70 or $80…
And for this price you get 30 servings… that’s right just 30 servings. See below:
Not only that but the packaging recommends 1 to servings per day. So you may only get 10 days out of your $80. That’s crazy!
That’s why I recommend checking out the Red Tea Detox for much better value for your money.
Ingredients in Green Detox
I’ve discussed many of the detox ingredients that I have personally used. The Science-Based Green Detox supplement seems to contain a lot of “buzzword” superfoods that look good on the label.
But the problem is that a single serving does not include enough of them. I found a similar problem in my Athletic Greens review. So you are paying around $2.30 per serving for a lot of things that you can get for much cheaper elsewhere.
So as mentioned earlier, Science-Based Green Detox just isn’t cost effective. The vitamins you can get from just taking a simple multivitamin. A quick search on Amazon reveals that the majority of the ingredients can be purchased for there and they’ll last you a lot longer than the 10-30 days that you will get out of Science-Based Green Detox.
Again, I recommend taking a look at the Red Tea Detox here for some real superfood ingredients.
Now there are some good points about the product:
None of the ingredients found in this green powder are made from synthetic chemicals that will release more toxins in your body. Everything is natural, and since DeLauer believes in transparency, he has listed all the ingredients for us to do our own research.
All the ingredients found in Science-Based Green Detox have been scientifically proven to help the body detox and naturally flush out harmful toxins. Here are some of the ingredients found in Science-Based Green Detox (the full list of ingredients from the label is shown above):
- Organic Spirulina Algae: This natural algae powder is rich in protein, as well as B-vitamins, antioxidants and other nutrients.
- Organic Chlorella: Chlorella is a powerful detoxifying supplement. It is a great source of protein, amino acids, magnesium, iron and chlorophyll, which make it able to attach itself to heavy metals and other unwanted substances in the body.
- Organic Kale: Kale is good for your digestion and detoxification because of its high fiber and sulfur content.
- Cranberry: Cranberry is loaded with phytonutrients called proanthocyanidins, which are known for their detoxification properties.
- Goji: Goji is high in full spectrum carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, which provide the body with antioxidant protection.
- Pomegranate: Pomegranate contains very powerful antioxidants, including punicalagin, ellagic acid and tannins.
- Acerola: Acerola is loaded with vitamin C. This not only boosts your immune system but also loosens stools when absorbed into the upper intestine, which aids the body in detoxification. On top of that, its various mineral salts help rejuvenate tired-looking skin, making it look healthier and younger.
- Acai: Acai is another great source of anti-inflammatories and antioxidants, such as Omega-3 fatty acids and anthocyanins.
How Science Based Green Detox Works
Before we get to how Science-Based Green Detox works, let me first start by explaining why detoxing is important. Our bodies are under a great deal of digestive stress from living a modern lifestyle.
One thing that contributes to our digestive stress is eating a lot of processed food. This is because these foods take longer to digest than other foods that are 100% natural (processed foods take 3-4 days to digest, which is very unnatural).
Now here is the problem: the longer these processed foods sit in your stomach, the more they release toxins that affect various functions within your body. One of those affected functions that is critical to our body’s capacity to lose weight is metabolism (the body’s ability to naturally burn fat).
One of the best ways to maintain proper digestive health is to detox your digestive tract by consuming organic superfoods that contain compounds known to flush toxins out of your body. These foods include kale, spinach, broccoli, ginger, cranberries, pomegranates and strawberries. While incorporating these foods into our diets is highly-recommended, I don’t think a lot of us are up for the challenge. This will require you and me to become fitness professionals in order to manage this amazing feat. But what DeLauer is offering here is another option that is way simpler than consuming actual organic foods every day: Science-Based Green Detox.
Science-Based Green Detox contains all the compounds found in the superfoods mentioned above in a super concentrated dose. All have to do is dissolve a single dose of the green powder and drink it. According to DeLauer, drinking this green drink is guaranteed to detox your body by removing the putrefied food in your digestive tract and ensuring that our body’s functions, such as metabolism, are boosted.
Why You Should Be Drinking Science Based Green Detox
There are a whole bunch of benefits from drinking detox drinks. But here are just a few:
Helps You Lose Weight
Since Science-Based Green Detox contains nutrients that boost your metabolism naturally, you can guarantee that this is what you should be drinking when you want to shed some weight. This drink helps get rid of food in your digestive tract that purifies and releases toxins that can affect your metabolic rate in a negative way. Once these toxins are gone, your metabolism is boosted.
Tastes Great
Many green drinks that are good for your body are known for having an awful taste (as with anything that is good for us). This is probably why most of us usually avoid these kinds of drinks. But Science-Based Green Detox has a great apple cinnamon flavor that will make you look forward to drinking it every day.
Detoxes Your Entire Body
As mentioned earlier, detoxing should always be the first step to losing weight, and Science-Based Green Detox ingredients have been scientifically proven to contain compounds that purify the body of toxins that enter our body due to living a modern lifestyle.
Gives Your an Energy Boost
If you are like me, you have probably taken energy drinks countless of times to give your body some energy. But this is another sure way to fill your body with more toxins that will zap your energy later, leading you to buy more energy drinks and so on, creating a vicious cycle. But Science-Based Green Detox contains nutrients that boost your energy naturally, giving you abundance energy that can be utilized for exercising.
Makes the Mind Health
Did you know that there is a connection between the brain and the stomach? Basically, a troubled brain can send signals to the stomach that can interrupt various important functions, one of them being metabolism. Similarly, a troubled stomach can send signals to the brain that can lead to stress, anxiety and even depression.
Since Science-Based Green Detox clears toxins that can stress your stomach, your stomach becomes “happy.” And with the connection between the brain and the stomach, your stomach sends signals to the brain that make it “happy,” reducing stress, anxiety and depression in the process.
Is There a Reason to Not Drink Green Detox Apart From The Cost?
Not that I know of. The drink doesn’t contain any synthetic chemical that can cause any negative side effects, making it highly safe for everyday use. However, if you are worried, pregnant or on medication, it is best to check with your doctor first to determine if it safe to use.
Conclusion
If you want to lose weight or detox, there are many products better than Science-Based Green Detox on the market right now due to it’s cost to get any decent amount of the superfoods contained in it. I highly recommend the Red Tea Detox instead as an example of a really great detox product.
